Dear readers,

You may be aware that the Montessori Exhibition in Sevalaya is an annual event organised to develop our children at the very tender age.  The initiative is aimed to trigger enthusiasm in the children, their imaginative skills, innate talents  and to extol their excellence

Sevalaya’s Montessori Exhibition 2018, was inaugurated at 11.00 AM  yesterday, by Mrs. Swathanthra  Sakthivel, Secretary Bala Mandir Schools. In her address, she said that she is delighted to see the range of services of Sevalaya, especially targeted towards the rural poor, and said that this kind of exhibitions will help children and visiting students, in their long and meaningful educational career and lives as well. Mr. R Selvakannan, HM, Paramarthi village Panchayat Union Primary School and Sevalaya’s long time supporter and donor Mr. Nalla Perumal participated and graced the occasion.

The exhibition was the culmination of the work put in by the children for almost a year. Throughout the year, they were working on clay models, sand, drawing and painting,. They learned how to make various shapes like triangle, pyramids, square, cube.  Besides they learned to write alphabets in Tamil, formulae in Maths and Science. Children’s creations were kept in the classrooms/halls for public display.  The children themselves explained the models to the visiting public, comprising various schools’ children, village elders, parents of the students, and press reporters.

Children performed various cultural activities, viz. Puppet show, Group songs, all relevant to the theme of the day.  The Highlight of the cultural event was the enactment of  children dressed like  our inspiring leaders in history, Jansi Rani, Mother Tesesa, and Thilliadi Valliammai,  as if they came alive,  which drew loud applause of the audience.

Students also spoke in the event, and expressed their extreme happiness of being students of Sevalaya and in fact a matter of pride, they said.

Earlier, Mrs. Annapoorna, Trustee, Sevalaya, welcomed all and gave a short note of the initiative.
