Social Impact Award in Education and Skill Development category by SP Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR), Mumbai.

Sevalaya has won the, ”Social Impact Award” in the field of Education and Skill Development category.
The award was instituted by SP Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR), Mumbai at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan.
At a function organised at Mumbai on 7th December 2023, Sevalaya Murali, Founder and Managing Trustee and A Arvind, Donor Communication Officer, Sevalaya received the award.
Out of 400 applicants who applied for the social impact award in various categories, Sevalaya was among the 6 institutions who reached the final stage in the category of education and skill development and was declared the winner.

Bhagwan Shri Sanjay Saibaba, presented Seva Ratna Award to Sevalaya Murali, Founder and Managing Trustee at a function organised by Shri Sanjay Sai Seva Organisation Chennai Chapter on 29th November 2023.

Karmaveerar Kamarajar Award 2023 - by Kamban Kazhagam

Kamban Kazhagam, honoured Sevalaya Murali, Founder and Managing Trustee with, ``Karmaveerar Kamarajar Award``, for exceptional service in the field of education at their 8th Annual function at Krishnagiri on 8th October 2023.

Best NGO Award - 2023 by Silver Jubilee Celebrations of IOB Retired Employees Association

Best NGO award was presented to Sevalaya, by Ajay Kumar Srivatsava, Managing Director, IOB on 21st June 2023.
The award was presented at the Silver Jubilee celebrations of the Indian Overseas Bank, Retired employees association.
The association also honoured the toppers of Std XII from Sevalaya's Mahakavi Bharathiyar Higher Secondary School, Kasuva centre.
15 senior citizens from Sevalaya's Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa Old Age Home participated in the celebrations.
Dr. Anjugam Boopathy, MBBS, MD., Deputy Mayor, Thanjavur was the Chief Guest of the event.

The award was given to Bhuvaneswari Muralidharan by C Vijayalakshmi Bharthi, Founder, Chakku Charitable Trust.
Lieutenant General Sanjay Chauhan (Retd) Director General at Directorate General of Quality and Chairman of BRIDGE Bharat Council was the presiding officer. He participated in the function online.
The award was instituted by nRoot technologies. The function was organized by nRoot in association with BRIDGE Bharat Council and Life Academy.
L N Anupriya, Head Quality of Sevalaya and M Saravanan, Donor Relations Officer of Sevalaya’s Old age home, Thanjavur participated in the function.

Sevalaya Bhuvaneswari received Community Warrior Award for 2023

Bhuvaneswari Muralidharan, Honorary Correspondent, Sevalaya, was awarded the Community Warrior Award at the nRoot Awards – 2023 held on 18th March 2023 at Periyar Maniammai Institute of Science & Technology, Thanjavur, in honour of the service to Society for over 3 decades in the areas of education, health, rural development, disaster relief and rehabilitation through Sevalaya.

Dr. Anjugam Boopathy, MBBS, MD., Deputy Mayor, Thanjavur was the Chief Guest of the event.

The award was given to Bhuvaneswari Muralidharan by C Vijayalakshmi Bharthi, Founder, Chakku Charitable Trust.

Minister Periyakaruppan and Ex-Central Minister G K Vasan presenting the Distinguished Alumni Award - 2022

Sevalaya Murali was felicitated and conferred with distinguished alumni award by Minister Periyakaruppan at a grand alumni reunion function held at New college on 8 Oct 2022 . Ex-central minister G K Vasan and other distinguished guests and alumni were also present at the occasion to celebrate. the completion of 70years of New College.
Sevalaya Murali studied in New college from 1977 to 1981, before going to IISC Bangalore.

Champions of Chennai Award 2022

Sevalaya is the recipient of the Champion of Chennai Award in the category of Social Initiatives, awarded by the KSA Trust, public charitable trust and an apolitical organisation whose vision is to recognize silent champions who have impacted people around them positively and have thus made the world a better place to live in.

Sevalaya Murali received the award at the hands of the Chief Guest Gagandeep Singh Bedi, IAS, Commissioner of Greater Chennai Corporation, at a function held at Chennai on 18th August 2022. Noted Bharathanatyam dancer and Kalaimamani awardee Priyadharshini Govind was the Special Guest at the event.

In his acceptance speech, Sevalaya Murali briefly spoke about the services offered by Sevalaya, particularly in the field of education of the rural children from poor families and eradication of child labour in 40 villages in Thiruvallur District. He narrated the story of how the free education offered by Sevalaya has helped the daughter of a vegetable vendor to become a doctor.

Gagandeep Singh Bedi congratulated the award winners and expressed his happiness to participate in the event where he could meet many inspiring personalities.

Bharathi Ratna Award

Pothigai Thamizh Sangam honored Sevalaya Murali with the Bharathi Ratna award on 27th June 2022. The Award was presented by the Honorable Speaker of Tamilnadu Legislative Assembly M Appavu during the Inauguration of Chellamma Bharathi Learning Centre at Kadayam. Chellamma - Bharathi statue was unveiled and Sevalaya's 34th Annual Day Celebrations at Kadayam were held on the occasion of the 125th wedding anniversary of the illustrious couple.

Bhuvaneswari Muralidharan, Honorary Correspondent, Sevalaya, was awarded the Service over Self award by Inner Wheel District 323 at their Annual conference SAMSIDDHI held on 1st April 2021 at ITC Grand Chola, Guindy, in honour of the service to Society for over 3 decades in the areas of education, health, rural development, and disaster relief and rehabilitation through Sevalaya.

Best Social Worker Award

Best Social Worker (Women Welfare) – State Award

This prestigious award was presented by the Chief Minister of Tamilnadu, Selvi J Jayalalithaa during the Independence day function at Fort St. George, on August 15, 2016. It was an acknowledgement of more than two decades of assiduous service to the cause of the underprivileged sections of the society.

At Sevalaya’s heart is providing ‘free’ education to more than 2000 underprivileged children. More than half of them are girls from the surrounding villages. Sevalaya has taken up the cause of sponsoring the collegiate education of 50 girl children who have completed their Std. XII Board exams.

Sprit of Humanity 2015 – Education – National Award

Sevalaya wins a national award for education. AmeriCares selected Sevalaya for spirit of Humanity award in education category and the award was presented in Mumbai on 9th September 2015. 400 NGOs from all over India participated and 28 finalists were invited to Mumbai to make a presentation to the jury committee. Sevalaya was selected best in the country in education.

Change Maker Award

Raindropss is a social organisation, created for delivering social awareness messages to the public. This organisation is an initiative of youth, with a view to honour achievers of NGOs engaged in the services to the society. Raindropss has chosen Sevalaya for its services to the society and invited for honouring in a colourful function held on 12th December 2015 at Rani seethai hall, Chennai, Tamilnadu. Dr. Balamurali Krishna a veteran carnatic music legend presented the Change Maker award to Mr.V Muralidharan, Founder and Managing Trustee of Sevalaya.

Mr. Aravind, Anchor, while introducing Sevalaya to the audience, lauded the services of Sevalaya. He said that as the very nomenclature suggests, it is an institution and a temple of service to render help to the needy.

Sevalaya was selected as the ‘Best Project Managed Community Service Organization’ by Project Management Institute (PMI). The award was presented by Mr. Vineet Nayyar, CEO, HCL Technologies.

Nallor Viruthu (Good Samaritan Award)

M/s Krishna Sweets a leading eatery – chain in south awarded “Nallor Viruthu” (Good Samaritan) to Mr. V Muralidharan on 19th September 2015. In a colourful function held in “Thathvaloga Auditorium” the award was given him by M Murali, Managing Director Sri Krishna Sweets. While presenting the award he said, Sevalaya fully deserves due to his yeoman services to the poor and downtrodden.

Mr. Ramanan, rendered Thirukural couplets from “Anbudaimai” chapter with music by Ms.Keerthana. in the function Mr. Ramanan particularly mention that he has visited Sevalaya and could see the great activities in the service to the poor and underprivileged children.

Mr. V Muralidharan in his acceptance speech declared that he was receiving the award on behalf of 154 staff members of Sevalaya who have been contributing in the mission of Sevalaya in transforming the lives of the rural poor.

Public Relations Council of India, selected Sevalaya as the ‘NGO of the Year’. The award was presented in Mumbai on 14th February 2014, jointly by Dr. Vithal Venkatesh Kamat, Executive Chairman & Managing Director of Orchid Group and Mrs. Rajashree Birla, Director of Aditya Birla Group.
