Sevalaya’s initiative for Takkar Bapa

Takkar Bapa vidyalaya samiti, which houses the Gandhi study centre in its premises, was flooded during the torrential rains in Chennai. The study centre lost valuable manuscripts, original letters and books written by Mahatma Gandhiji, and other important freedom fighters. Their buildings were also damaged due to the floods. Sevalaya, on hearing this, swung swiftly into action, and decided to extend its maximum help for reconstruction. Accordingly, Sevalaya had sent its appeal to corporate members. In deference to our request L&T InfoTech, an IT major, immediately responded. It is a delightful matter that the corporate has promised to rebuild Gandhi study center by providing necessary infrastructure viz., PC’s, copier, books with storage shelves. Further, they have agreed to give PA system for Takkar Bapa Vidyalaya.

L&T InfoTech will be donating Rs. 30 Lakhs.  The initiative was started right earnest by performing Bhoomi puja on 16th January 2016, at the premises. The auspicious programme was graced by Sharon from L&T Infotech. Mr. V.Muralidharan, Founder and Managing trustee of Sevalaya and Radha Srinivasan, Head – PR corporate from Sevalaya was participated. Gandhi study center trustees and members attended the function.
