Sevalaya will soon be setting up a super specialty hospital with all facilities at Ravanasamudram village to provide the best treatment to underprivileged villagers of Tenkasi free of charge.
Sevalaya has been helping to provide a disease-free life to many people living below the poverty line through various services like health centres at Kasuva Nathamedu villages in Thiruvallur district, Sunguvarchathiram in Chengalpet district, mobile medical vans in Thiruvallur, Chengalpet and Thanjavur districts in addition to conducting health awareness camps and specialized medical camps at regular intervals in and around its different centres in Tamil Nadu.
During the pandemic, Sevalaya has, with the support of many donors, donated oxygen concentrators and other medical equipment to various Government Hospitals and Public Health centres across Tamilnadu.
Free Tele Medicine consultation facility was inaugurated on 09th July 2021, for the residents of Ravanasamudram in Tenkasi District. Dr J Gokulakrishnan, Head, Health services, Sevalaya, joined online and examined the patients with the support of a nurse at Ravanasamudram centre. Dr Major R S Rengan, MS DNB, who inaugurated the facility also offered consultation to the patients. Many people benefited from the free consultations.
During the event, Dr Major R S Rengan, MS DNB, who served as a military doctor for 14 years and is a reputed surgeon with 34 years of experience in surgery in multispecialty hospitals in Chennai, expressed his delight to be a part of Sevalaya’s service. He will be donating the building at the site of the Welfare Association at Ravanasamudram to provide medical services. He also promised that his two sons and two daughters-in-law all of whom are Doctors would join hands with Sevalaya to provide free medical care to the needy of his hometown Ravanasamudram.
