22nd October 2016, the day broke with shocking news! T M Lakshmikanthan, a trustee of Sevalaya had passed away. A severe heart attack snatched him away from us suddenly.
LK had joined the Board of Trustees of Sevalaya on 11th October 2015. Though his association with Sevalaya was for a period of 1 year only, he actively participated in the meetings and offered his guidance on developing donor base and introducing new ways of fund raising. He was always at hand when we needed support.
A banker with 40 years experience, he was the executive director of Karur Vysya Bank and General Manager, Corporation Bank. He had a track record of consistently delivering exceptional results through branch business development, client management, and strategic planning and cultivating and maintaining key relationships. He was the President of P.C. Jeweller, New Delhi and also served as an Independent director on the board of SMSO Nidhi, a private financial institution. He had handled many training programs in business schools and corporates. He was very good in planning, motivating people and close monitoring.
With his passing away Sevalaya has lost a very good well wisher, guide, mentor and a very fine gentleman.
