Three families, whose homes were destroyed by the floods last year, moved into their newly constructed homes this week. The families who lost their homes and belongings in the floods, lived with their relatives during the reconstruction phase, and underwent huge emotional turmoil. The houses situated in Puliyur, Pakkam and Kasuva villages, were constructed at a higher level than earlier and fitted with bathrooms, a new experience for the home owners, in keeping with the Prime ministers of Swacch Bharat (Clean India) initiative. The home owners expressed their gratitude to UWW for providing the funds and Sevalaya for executing the project.
