Sevalaya celebrates Children’s Day at Thiruvallur GH

The children of Sevalaya Homes at Kasuva centre celebrated Children’s Day with the children admitted in the paediatric ward of Government Hospital. They entertained the children at the hospital by performing a dance and also distributed fruits to them.

Sevalaya has been celebrating Children’s Day at the paediatric ward of Government Hospital for many years now with the aim of cheering up the children who are in the hospital while the nation celebrates Children’s Day.

The Chief Guest of the occasion, Vinod Kumar Jain, Entrepreneur said, “God is seen in the laughter of the poor as well as the children.  Our children are our real wealth. Due to unfortunate circumstances, some children are in the hospital during joyous moments like Children’s Day. Sevalaya’s consideration for such children and efforts to bring smiles in their faces is really laudable. “

Special Guest R K P Vijayanarayan of RKP Hospitals mentioned that he was very happy to celebrate Children’s Day with the children of Sevalaya and the children at the hospital.

Dr Arasi Srivatsan, Dean, Govt. Medical College, Thiruvallur, Dr K N Rajkumar, Resident Medical Officer, Chief Doctors Dr V Srinivasan, Dr S V Vijayaraj and Dr Jagadishkumar, and nurses participated in the function.

Dr Arasi Srivatsan, Dean, in her speech said, “ Our hospital doors are open for the patients all 24 hours and the doctors, nurses are all on duty continuously. This programme gave us a much neede relief. We are also happy to see the smiling faces of the children. Thanks to Sevalaya for this wonderful gesture. “ She also addressed the parents and advised them to appreciate and encourage their children and not to compare them with other children. “Each child is unique and precious.” She observed.

“For many days now, I have never seen a smile in my child’s face. I am happy that he enjoyed the programme by Sevalaya today” said a mother in the hospital.

Earlier Sevalaya Murali welcomed the gathering. Amarchand Jain, Advisor proposed a Vote of Thanks. The function ended with the singing of National Anthem.
