Chennai Flood-Relief Kit Distribution

BNY Mellon and Sanmar sponsored 2000 flood relief kits worth ₹20 lacs, which were distributed to the people worst affected by the heavy rain in Chennai. Sevalaya is the implementation partner arranging the procurement, packing and transportation of materials and organising the distribution. The houses were flooded and the people were stranded.
In the second phase, on 21 Nov 2021, blankets, sarees, lungis, T shirts, bread, rusk, biscuits were dresses were distributed to 1000 people who are platform dwellers and people in hutments, in Singer street, V V koil street, Dhideer nagar ( Kannappar Grounds), Home for homeless, a shelter run by Govt for the dwellers in Egmore Railway station platforms and Moore Market Allikulam area which are worst affected by the heavy rains.
I Paranthaman, Honourable MLA, Egmore Constituency, and, Sevalaya Murali distributed the materials.
