Digital Literacy program for school children

Apollo Tyres Foundation sponsored a Digital Literacy initiative with Sevalaya as its implementation partner in Kanchipuram.  Apollo Tyres donated 60 computers to 6 Government schools and Sevalaya will run the program with computer teachers to benefit  over 2000 school students.

As part of this CSR initiative, on  8th September 2022 to celebrate World Literacy Day, a number of competitions including painting, drama, book reviews, and quiz were conducted by Sevalaya. Over 100 students from 6 schools took part in the competitions.

Prize distribution function for winners of the above competitions was held at ADW High school, Chennakuppam, Kanchipuram on 23 September 22.  Chief guest Prithiv Raj, Senior Specialist Sustainability & CSR (TN &AP), Apollo Tyres spoke on the occasion. He emphasized that “Technical ability is considered valuable in the modern world. In partnership with Sevalaya, we are offering this programme with the intention of knowing and understanding basic computer concepts”. He reiterated that this computer training will help students in achieving any goals they may have and encouraged them to take advantage of this program.

Sevalaya Muralidharan welcomed the gathering and A A Kingston, VP Operations, proposed the vote of thanks at the function.
