Dear Readers,
You may be aware that Sevalaya provides free and quality education to over 2050 rural poor for the past 30 years. We are pleased to share with you that our students achieve in all the school related activities, viz. academics, art, culture, various competitions and sports – inter-school, inter district schools, inter state and national level.
Sports, being an important area for the students, Sevalaya focuses its special attention with its full time Sports director, assisted by 4 special coaches to give effective and scientific training right from infant class (students). With the result all the students are benefited and prepare themselves to take active part in all the sports activities.
It will not be out of place if we share with you that for Sevalaya, participating and achieving for the country in Olympic games is the bench mark, Accordingly road maps have been drawn.
So far, our students, have achieved during the current academic year, at inter-school, inter district and inter state and at National level, by participating and winning .
In Sports too Sevalaya students have been achieving remarkably. Currently, in Athletic competitions held at Nehru Stadium, all the 10 Students of Sevalaya participated and won. Sevalaya’s students participated in “World Beater Athelette” at Nehru Stadium. 200 students from 50 schools in three districts (Chennai, Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur) participated in various competitions, viz. 100 Metres, 200 M, 400 M Running race, Long jump, High Jump, Shot Put and won.
In praise and recognition of Sevalaya’s students, all the ten were given cash prizes, Rs.6000/- each totalling Rs.60,000/-
Sevalaya’s students are first generation school-goers in their families and their enthusiasm, and achievements are to be lauded, recognised, and encouraged.
