Out of the 153 students who took the exams on the life and teachings of Mahakavi Bharathi and Swami Vivekananda from 20 districts, 25 won prizes. Shri La Ganesan as the Chief guest and Shri Tiruppur Krishnan, Editor, Amudhasurabhi gave away prizes to the winners at a function in the campus. Shri La Ganesan, in his special address to the audience dealt at length the glorious past, duties of the children towards their parents, motherland. To explain this to the students, he drew several anecdotes from our mythologies, analogies and stories of fiction. He lauded the efforts of Sevalaya and added saying that unlike western nations, in India society’s contribution is more than the State and in fact they help the State in serving the needs of people.
