Gandhiji’s 150th anniversary was celebrated in Sevalaya’s three centers located in Kasuva, Ambattur and Sunguvachathiram.
The events were presided over by personalities like Dr. Dhevanadhan Yadhav, Founder of Indian People Party (IMKMK), Murali Srinivasan, Director General of Techno Products and Dr. Amudha Krishnan, a writer and poet.
Dr. Dhevanadhan Yadhav, ChiefGuest of Kasuva center, in his brief speech said Sevalaya is worthy of a Nobel Prize. In his words,
“Sevalaya have been fighting a lot of hurdles to provide free education for thousands of children in the past 30 years. As, at present, education is the only way ahead if we are to strive towards betterment of our nation, Sevalaya’s service definitely deserves the Nobel Prize”.
Few days ago, we at Kasuva center conducted a writing competition for all staff to create awareness about Mahatma Gandhi and his principles. Dhevanadhan distributed prizes to more than 20 staffs who won, while asking everyone associated with Sevalaya to feel proud about themselves.
Murali Srinivasan, Chief Guest for the Sunguvarchathiram center, while addressing Sevalaya’s students, insisted that they aspire to become entrepreneurs by working towards exploring their talent.
His wife, Shobhana Murali Srinivasan appreciated Sevalaya’s efforts in giving a helping hand to underprivileged people and donated Rs. 25,000 to the cause, to show her support.
Dr Amudha Balakrishnan, Chief Guest for the Ambattur center, insisted on students learning to be disciplined and at the same time, give back to the society in any which way possible.
