Mr. P.C. Krishnan, General Manager, M/s. Petrofac Engineering India Private Limited, participated in the inauguration and graced the function. Unveiling the plaque, he said “that he is delighted to partner with Sevalaya in its activities. We are extremely happy in its host of services carried on, viz. School, Community Colleges, Old age home, children home, Medical centre, Ghoshala. Further we are also pleased to associate with them on the proposed Sports Fitness Centre, Windows for all class rooms, and the construction of old age home in Tanjore, which is already progressing.”
“As Thirumoolar had said that youth should maintain well his physique. We would have lost many talents who would not have cared their physique. Sound health, both body and intellect, are necessary to be talented. Therefore you (students) should make use of this Centre, develop skill and achieve.” he said.
Mr. R. Sathyamoorthy, Deputy General Manager, Petrofac Engineering India Private Limited, expressed his happiness that Sevalaya takes keen initiative in preparing its students for participating in Olympics, which is a laudable one. About 200 students take skill training both in the morning and evening hours. I am Confident that Sevalaya’s students will participate in Olympics and achieve.
Welcoming the Chief Guest, in his address, Mr. V. Muralidharan, Founder and Managing Trustee, Sevalaya, that the students are participating in the Sports competitions, both at State level and national. Further he said that Sevalaya students and youth from the villages around should avail and benefit.
Mr. Sankarapandian, Director, Physical Education, Sevalaya, was given a Cash award of Rs.10000/- in the presence of the Chief Guest. Mr. Sankarapandian, however, made use of the amount to buy sports goods for the students.
Mr. Kingston, Campus Head, Sevalaya, proposed vote of thanks. National anthem was in chorus in the end.
