A National level Fire and Evacuation drill was conducted at Sevalaya’s Mahakavi Bharathiyar HSS on 21st January 2020. The exercises were conducted by N Bhaskaran, District Fire Officer Thiruvallur and P Bhaskaran, Additional District Fire Officer Thiruvallur. This exercise is conducted every year on 21st January 2020 at a national level in selected schools. Students were divided into 10 groups and given training on how to put off the fire and evacuate all to safety.
A mock fire was then created in the computer lab and the teams worked efficiently and did the needful to put off the fire and evacuate all students. 1004 students and 20 teachers participated in the drill. 2 fire fighting vehicles and 10 fire fighting commandos participated in the drill. It was a useful session for the staff and students.
