As part of the Daan Utsav week, Lionbridge Technologies, Chennai, hosted a team of novice sandwich preparers, from Sevalaya community college, to make sandwiches for their employees. It was a wonderful sight to see the youngsters team up together and slice vegetables, pre-prepare the bread with butter and mint chutney, set up the tables with sandwich grills and other accessories in quick time. C Adhimuthu rallied the team with pep talk, and was in charge of queuing the orders, and, M Nadhiya spearheaded the grill stations. Orders were flying fast and furious at snack time, and met with alacrity by the young team. As a surprise, the Sevalaya team, organised an impromptu Mehendi stall too. In all 90 sandwiches were sold in just under two hours and women took up the offer for Mehendi!! The proceeds will benefit underprivileged.
