KONE Elevators Escalators India Private Limited has sponsored a Medical Centre, a Tuition Centre, a construction of Community Toilet block, and installation of RO plant at Thathanur village in Sriperambudur, Kanchipuram District. These projects worth around 70 lakhs are a part of its CSR program. Sevalaya is the implementation partner. These facilities were inaugurated at a function at Thathanur village on 12th April 2023.
1500+ beneficiaries in and around the Thathanur village will be benefitted by these initiatives. Ragu Gunabooshanam, Director-Finance, KONE Elevators Escalators India Private Limited was the Chief Guest. In his speech the Chief Guest expressed that his company is willing to work with Sevalaya to implement many CSR projects. He advised the villagers to make use of the facilities offered to them.
Sevalaya’s Medical centre will function from 2 to 5pm on weekdays providing free consultations and medicines to the villagers.
The Tution Centre will provide free support to the government students studying from Std I to VIII. Tution teachers will be appointed who will assist them in studies. Snacks will be provided to the students .This centre will function from Monday to Saturday, 5 to 7pm. Nearly 150+ students in and around Thathanur Village are expected to be benefitted.
10 Community toilets each for men and women have been constructed in the village of Kalmedu nagar, Thathanur. 300+ villagers and 56 School students can access the toilet and get benefitted.
An RO plant has also been installed to provide clean water to villagers.
Rufus Davidson, CSR Lead, and Finance Team members from KONE Elevators Escalators India Private Limited, Sevalaya Murali, Founder and Managing Trustee of Sevalaya, M Chandra, President of the village, B Paramasivam, Union Panchayat Counsellor, S Dhanabhakkiyam, Pachayat Secretary, ward members and 80 residents in and around the Thathanur village also participated in the inaugural function of the Model Village.
