World Literacy Day at Sevalaya

World Literacy Day was celebrated at Sevalaya on 8th September 2017. In what can be termed as a unique event, the underprivileged students of Sevalaya, all first generation school goers, brought their parents to school, all of whom are illiterate and taught them to write the alphabets and to affix their signature. Sevalaya takes every effort to bridge the illiteracy gap among adults in the villages. The parents do not know how to sign their own names. So, this effort of the students to teach their parents is laudable.
