V Leena from Std IX and V Kiruthika from Std X are sisters studying at Sevalaya School. They have been interested in sports and have been very good at it from their childhood. Their favorite sports have always been Handball and their years of hard work have finally bore them fruits. They both have been selected to represent Tamil Nadu in inter-state competitions.
In the first match representing Tamil Nadu, Leena will be competing against Hyderabad as Left wing, while Kiruthika will be playing against Haryana in centre back position. Talking about what it means to them, Kiruthika, the elder sister said,
“I have been competing for three years in a row now. Though I have been good at Handball, we couldn’t get through. But what kept us going was our parents’ unflinching hope in us and constant encouraging from our teachers at Sevalaya and sports master in particular. We would like to thank them all on this occasion”.
