IITM and Sevalaya Collaborate in fields of Rural Education and Healthcare Services
V Kamakoti, Director, Indian Institute of Technology Madras, was the chief guest, released a video of Sevalaya commemorating 35 years of service, at a function in Chennai on 26th December 2023..
Prof Kamakoti expressed his appreciation for the phenomenal work of Sevalaya. He said that ‘Rural Intelligence’, if tapped at the right age, will help the nation to become a super power – socially and economically, by 2047, the centenary year of our Independence.
He highlighted how Sevalaya’s programmes align with India’s education plans and the UN’s Sustainable development goals. He explained about IIT’s initiative, ‘IIT for all,’ aiming to bring education to rural kids. He also spoke about IIT’s AI medical care in rural areas and announced a partnership with Sevalaya to reach out to more and more rural communities taking education and healthcare to their doorsteps.
The video showcased Sevalaya’s remarkable journey, highlighting the organization’s impactful service initiatives, educational programs, healthcare , and community outreach projects over the past three and a half decades.
Sevalaya Murali, Founder and Managing Trustee, Sevalaya welcomed the gathering and spoke briefly about the organisation’s journey in 35 years. Thomas T Abraham, Executive Committee member, proposed Vote of Thanks.
