Senior year agriculture students visit Bharathi organic farm

70 Agriculture students of Std XI and Std XII visited Bharathi Organic farm to get first hand information and learn about the types of vegetables and fruits that are grown in an organic farm at Thiruvilangadu, Thiruvallur district. R Amirtham, working as assistant in the farm, took the students around the farm and informed them about the techniques of organic farming and the types of natural fertilizers used in growing these vegetables and fruits. The trees in the farm ranged from Mangoes, tamarind to Bamboo. The uniqueness of the farm is the irrigation system, where the water is supplied to the trees entirely by solar power. The students were in for a treat when they were told that they could eat any fruit from the farm. The students ate mangoes to their hearts content.
