Over 1000 students took the pledge against the consumption of alcohol

Putli Bai Day was celebrated at Sevalaya’s Mahakavi Bharatiyar Higher Secondary School on 5 Aug 22. Special guests G Ram Mohan, Retired Commissioner of Railway Safety, S Arul, GM Human Resources, Kalimuthu, DGM Human Resources, Arthi, AM Human Resources, and N Sadagopan, Executive Vice President, Operations, Sundram Fasteners Limited Autolec Division participated in the event

G Ram Mohan explained the significance of Putli Bai Day and stated that the event was well-organized this year. Other special guests encouraged the youngsters develop good traits. 100 stationery kits were also donated to Sevalaya students.
A survey in and around Kasuva was conducted with help of Ram Mohan and it was found that the students are following their pledge.

There were 500 Sevalaya school students present at Kasuva while 270 students joined online from Community colleges from all branches of Sevalaya, and 275 students from government schools in Sirkazhi and Thanjavur. Wearing “I will not consume alcohol” T-shirts, they also took an oath at the hands of their mother not to drink alcohol, similar to Mahatma Gandhi’s oath.

Ram Mohan read the pledge, and over 1000 students repeated it. He also donated T-shirts and sweets. Welcome address was given by Vijaya, Headmistress and Kanchana, Head Value Education gave the vote of thanks.
