Clean air – students lead the way for cleaner environment

1000 students from four schools including Sevalaya and a college walked around Pakkam and Puliyur village spreading the message of smokeless Bhogi. The rally was marked by thematic slogans and messages explaining the hazards to environment and health. In a tacit acknowledgement, this year, the villagers appreciated the initiative and the persistent efforts of Sevalaya, to shun the concept of burning things during Bhogi.  The village panchayat, appreciated the efforts and served refreshments to the children.

Mr. M. Thanikachalam, Asst. Elementary Education Officer, presided over and inaugurated the rally.  While kicking off the rally, he asserted saying that only the children could bring the desired changes, by taking the message to their parents first.  It is our prime duty to protect our environment. Preserving our nature is of paramount important, he said.
