Sevalaya’s Saraswathi Sairam Senior Citizens’s; Home inaugurated at Selai village in Tiruvallur

Sevalaya’s Saraswathi Sairam Senior Citizens' Home was inaugurated at Selai village in Tiruvallur on 2 Jul 2026. T R Srivatsan, Founder and Managing Director, Only Coffee (Pure Veg Restaurant), Madhuranthagam, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and inaugurated the home.

Former DCPO M S Syed Rawoof and Former President, Selai Kandigai Panchayat, Govadhanam and vegetable trader Vadivel also participated. The generous donation of the property was made to Sevalaya by M Saraswathi, (Retd.) Asst Public Prosecutor, Tiruvallur. The home will provide safe accommodation, nutritious food, healthcare and compassionate care free of cost, enabling elderly people in need to live with dignity and peace.

Speaking at the event, Srivatsan expressed great happiness at the service being carried out by Sevalaya. He pledged to donate 200 bags of cement to assist with the next phase of construction for the old age home and assured his continued support for Sevalaya’s service activities in the future.

Syed Rawoof commended Sevalaya for guiding countless children toward a better life. He also happily shared his role in enrolling many children in Sevalaya, thereby paving the way for their education and future progress. He expressed that attending Sevalaya’s major events, even after his retirement, gave him immense pride and joy. Govadhanam stated, "We take great pride in having a Sevalaya-run old age home located in our village." He assured that doctors from his family were ready to visit the home on a weekly basis to provide medical services and that they could be contacted during emergencies.

He also mentioned that he would make arrangements to ensure a regular supply of vegetables to the home through Vadivel.
Saraswathi said, "It gives me immense satisfaction and pride to hand over this home- built with hard-earned money, to an exemplary social service organisation like Sevalaya." She expressed great happiness at the thought that destitute elderly individuals would live safely with peace of mind in the home.

Earlier, while delivering the welcome address, Sevalaya Founder and Managing Trustee V Muralidharan noted that many kind-hearted individuals make similar donations to Sevalaya. He mentioned that this centre was Sevalaya’s 68th centre and highlighted that the organisation continues to grow in its social welfare activities thanks to the support of such benevolent people. Amarchand Jain, Member, Executive Committee, Sevalaya delivered the Vote of Thanks. Mementos were presented to the Chief Guests.
