Sevalaya achieves 100% Results in Std XII Board Exams

Sevalaya’s Mahakavi Bharathiyar Higher Secondary School has achieved 100% results in the XII standard board exams conducted this year. The results were released on 8 May 2026.

All 164 students from Sevalaya have successfully passed the exams. The toppers this year have secured 95%, 93% and 92% marks respectively. Sevalaya, a charitable organisation has been functioning for the past 38 years, educating nearly 2,100 underprivileged children every year, free of cost at their school in Kasuva, near Thiruninravur, Tiruvallur. Many students are first generation school goers hailing from a disadvantaged economic background.

The topper, Velmurugan S from the Commerce stream scored 569 out of 600 marks. After the untimely demise of his father, he joined Sevalaya in Std III due to his family’s financial constraints. Raised by his mother, Nagammal, a tailor who was the family’s main support, he also secured 93% and came third in the school in the Std X board examinations in 2024. He has
an elder sister who is married, and a younger brother who has completed Std XI and entered Std XII this year at Sevalaya. Velmurugan’s disciplined approach and commitment have helped him achieve excellent results. Driven by a desire to serve society and bring meaningful change, he aspires to become an IAS officer. He aims to pursue and complete the CPA qualification.

Archana V from the Commerce stream scored 557 and came second. Her father is a construction labourer. Her mother is a housewife. Her elder sister, a Sevalaya alumna, is currently pursuing BSc Agriculture with educational support from Sevalaya. She actively participates in school activities including sports, and extra curricular activities, winning several
prizes. She aspires to join the government service sector.

Shadhanaa B from Bio-Maths group scored 550 out of 600 and came third. Her father works as a driver, while her mother is a homemaker. She believes the quality education and support provided by Sevalaya helped her excel academically. Aspiring to pursue MBBS, she has given her NEET examination. She hopes Sevalaya will continue to support her higher education and
wishes to give back to the institution in the future. From the Children’s Home, the toppers were Vasanthi V (Commerce) who scored 543 /600,

Lakshmipriya V (Bio-Maths) and Lithishwaran N (Agriculture) who scored 460/600 and Dharshini (Commerce) who scored 458/600.
All the toppers credited their teachers and Sevalaya for their success and promised to become successful in life and give back to Sevalaya and society. Sevalaya teachers spared no efforts in going beyond their job to ensure that the students were thoroughly prepared academically, physically and mentally to give their best. They arranged several special classes and provided individual attention through counseling sessions to the students.
