Summer Camp for 200+ school students concludes at Sevalaya

A 20-day free summer camp was conducted for school students at Sevalaya’s centre in Kasuva village, Tiruvallur, near Thiruninravur. The valedictory function of the camp took place on 6 May 2026.

R Parthiban, State President – Tamil Nadu Artists, Painters and All Workers Organisation and Proprietor – Deepan Arts and Digital Banner Printing, Thiruninravur, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Students, parents and staff members also participated.

187 students attended the summer camp and took part in sports and activities such as handball, basketball, volleyball, athletics, chess, yoga and motivational sessions. The camp helped students build teamwork, discipline and confidence while staying physically active. The computer science camp was attended by 16 students from Sevalaya and local government and
private schools around Kasuva village.

The camp taught them the use of AI tools for educational purposes. 20 students took part in the dance camp. Nutritious breakfast and transport were also provided to the students who attended the camp. The camp was conducted by teachers from the Physical Education, Computer Science, NCC and Co-curricular departments, along with Hi 5 Youth Foundation coaches and Sevalaya alumni.

Speaking on the occasion, Parthiban said, “I have known Sevalaya for a long time. Seeing it grow into a large banyan tree today, with a wide range of activities, brings me great joy. It is heartening to see children, elders and animals being cared for here.” He also suggested including drawing as part of the camp next year and offered his support for the same.
The Chief Guest felicitated the students who participated in the camp.Sevalaya’s donor K G R Mohan has been sponsoring prizes for students in the chess camp every year. Students who took part in the dance camp presented vibrant dance performances.

Earlier, Anupriya L N, Head – Quality and Volunteering, Sevalaya, welcomed the gathering and spoke about Sevalaya’s activities. Sankarapandian A, Physical Director, Sevalaya, delivered the Vote of Thanks and expressed his gratitude to the sponsors who supported the breakfast and transport arrangements. Mementos were presented to the Chief Guest by Vijaya R, Head -Education.
