Dignitaries from Wolters Kluwer LR ELM Solutions Inaugurate Renovated Shed
for Eco-Friendly Biogas Unit at Sevalaya. As part of its CSR activities,
Wolters Kluwer LR ELM Solutions sponsored the renovation of a shed for the
biogas unit at Sevalaya’s Kasuva centre near Thiruninravur. At an event held
on 7 Apr 2025, Raja Sengupta, EVP and General Manager, Brian Jorgenson,
VP, Product Management and Raju Vaidyanathan, Managing Director, Wolters Kluwer
LR ELM Solutions inaugurated the renovated shed. With bio waste generated from
Sevalaya’s gaushala with 100+ cows and food waste generated from Sevalaya’s
kitchen and dining hall as its fuel, the biogas unit has been running for 25
years. Installed at a cost of ₹6.23 lakhs, the shed project supports the
biogas unit which helps in reducing the fuel cost by 50%.In their speeches,
the Chief Guests commended the service done by Sevalaya and promised to
continue supporting various initiatives in the future. Earlier
V Muralidharan, Founder and Managing Trustee, Sevalaya welcomed
the gathering and thanked the Wolters Kluwer for sponsoring solar
lights in the Sevalaya staff quarters area last year and the biogas shed
renovation this year. He explained how the gaushala waste from 100+
cows, food waste from the kitchen and the dining hall are sent to
the biogas unit, converted as fuel and sent back to the kitchen, which
saves about half of the ₹3000 spent on fuel every day. Students presented
engaging cultural performances. N Navin Kumar, AVP, Donor Relations,
