Bhagwan Mahavir’s 2624th Jayanti was celebrated on 11 Apr 2025 at Sevalaya’s
Kasuva Centre, near Thiruninravur.
S Ashok Kumar Jain, Proprietor, Sri Jain Medical Stores, Tiruvallur graced
the occasion as Chief Guest. M Santosh, Proprietor, Jain Jewellers was also
present. The Chief Guest lit the kuthuvilakku and inaugurated the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashok Kumar Jain said, “Mahaveera was the 24th
and last Tirthankara of Jainism. Vardhamana tamed a wild elephant and was
hence known as Mahaveera”. “His teachings include- do no harm to any living
being, always speak the truth, do not steal or covet things that belong
to someone else, live a life of discipline and cleanliness”. He advised
the students to follow all these principles in their lives. “Live and let
live was his most important teaching that we all should remember” he concluded.
Earlier V Muralidharan, Founder and Managing Trustee, Sevalaya welcomed the
gathering. “We celebrate Mahavir Jayanti every year at Sevalaya. We have
expanded to 49 centres all over India and very soon we will celebrate Mahavir
Jayanti in Gujarat and Jaipur also”, he said. Amarchand Jain, Executive
Committee Member, Sevalaya delivered the Vote of Thanks. “Do good to
others and goodness will befall us. Do harm and harm will befall us.
Always live with humanity.” he said thanking the guests. He also advised
the students to respect elders, avoid telling lies and never steal from others.
Students presented engaging cultural performances. Amarchand Jain,
Executive Committee Member, Sevalaya sponsored sweets for all the students.
A memento was presented to the Chief Guest.
