Thangavel Swami, Retired Lecturer has donated 5226 sq.ft of land in his native village Melaseithalai, Ottapidaram taluk, Thoothukudi District, to Sevalaya for carrying on its rural welfare activities.

Thangavel Swami, Retired Lecturer has donated 5226 sq.ft of land in his native village Melaseithalai, Ottapidaram taluk, Thoothukudi District, to Sevalaya for carrying on its rural welfare activities.
Sevalaya proposes to establish a community college offering tailoring, basic computer science courses, and a tuition centre.
Sevalaya will be organising summer camps for children.
The land was registered in the name of Sevalaya at the Sub Registrar’s office, Ottapidaram, on 27th February 2024.
On 27th February 2024, Thangavel Swami and Sevalaya Murali, Founder and Managing Trustee, visited the memorial of freedom fighter Kappalottiya Thamizhan V. O. Chidambaram Pillai who hailed from Ottapidaram.
They paid respect to the great leader by garlanding his statue.
