Sevalaya’s Mahakavi Bharathiyar Higher Secondary School celebrated Teachers’ Day commemorating the birthday of Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan at its Kasuva centre, Thiruvallur on 5th Sep 2024.
Vidya S Nath, Vice President – Corporate Strategy, Vice Chairman – Asia Pacific Flex Network, Flextronics Technologies India Private Limited was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Vidya S Nath reminisced on her own student life and advised the students to retain their curiosity, making good use of opportunities and skill development. She said that these three aspects would help the students to succeed in life.
Every year Sevalaya presents silver coins to all the staff on the occasion of teachers day. This year, the Chief Guest handed over the silver coins to the employees. The Chief Guest also released a monthly manuscript magazine prepared by students with the help of teachers, titled ‘Vidiyal’.
Bhama Sridharan, a volunteer from Bangalore, participated in the function as the Special Guest. She conducted sessions for the teachers at Sevalaya School, demonstrating how to teach Science and Maths in a way that's easy for students to understand.
Mementos were presented to the Guests. Earlier, R Vijaya, Head of Education greeted the Chief Guest and delivered the welcome address. Sevalaya students presented colourful cultural performances highlighting the selfless
work done by the teaching community.
