Tamil New Year was celebrated on 15 Apr 2025 at Sevalaya’s Gandhi Ashram Krishnan Memorial Free Old Age Home at Thanjavur.

Nikhil Johri, Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Trivantage Capital Management
India, and a long-time donor of Sevalaya for over 15 years, graced the occasion
as the Chief Guest.Starting with donations for education, food and cyclone relief
he later funded the construction of Sevalaya’s Old Age Home at Zamin Endathur.
Today he is a major sponsor for the day-to-day operations at Sevalaya’s Old Age
Homes at Thanjavur and Zamin Endathur. His sponsorship ensures healthy food,
healthcare, comfortable stay and recreation for more than 40 elderly
residents. Speaking on the occasion, Nikhil Johri said, “I have been wanting to
visit Sevalaya for a long time. Today that wish has been fulfilled. I am honoured
to be one of Sevalaya’s donors. I see God in each and every elderly resident here.
I feel encouraged with the blessings of the elders here”. He also interacted with
the elders and enquired about their food, medical facilities and hobbies.
Earlier V Muralidharan, Founder and Managing Trustee, Sevalaya welcomed the
gathering. He said that the Old Age Home has been functioning since 2017 and
currently serves almost 20 elderly residents. He added that Nikhil Johri has
been generously contributing part of the operational expenses for the old age
home. He also requested the donor to look into setting up an after-school study
centre and conducting medical camps at the centre. P Prasanna, Vice President,
Donor Relations, Sevalaya delivered the Vote of Thanks. A memento was presented to
the Chief Guest. Sevalaya’s beneficiaries Saradha and Rakesh presented song and dance performances.
