Sevalaya’s Gandhi Ashram Krishnan Memorial Home for senior citizens was inaugurated in Thanjavur on 23rd August 2018.
The land was donated by Freedom fighter Gandhi Ashram Krishnan’s son K Muthuramakrishnan and family. One wing of the senior citizen home building was constructed with the support of M/s Petrofac Engineering Services Private Limited.
Chief Guest P C Krishnan, General Manager, Petrofac, inaugurated the home. R Sathiyamurthy, Assistant General manager, Petrofac Engineering Services, unveiled the portrait of the freedom fighter Gandhi Ashram Krishnan.
Gopalan of Bharathi Payilagam during his brief speech narrated incidents from freedom fighter Krishnan’s life highlighting the sacrifices he made for the nation. Prof. K Kannan and Muthuramakrishnan sons of the Late freedom fighter spoke about their father and offered their felicitations.
Earlier, V. Muralidharan, Founder and Managing Trustee, Sevalaya, in his brief welcome address to the audience said the home has been opened for destitute elders who have no financial support.
