Sevalaya Marks Rajaji Jayanthi at Kasuva Centre near Thiruninravur, Competition Winners
FelicitatedSevalaya commemorated Rajaji Jayanthi on 9 January 2025 at its Kasuva Centre
near Thiruninravur,marking the 146th birth anniversary of C Rajagopalachari, the last
Governor-General of India and formerChief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
Dr J S Rajkumar, Chairman, Lifeline Group of Hospitals graced the occasion as Chief Guest
and inaugurated the function by garlanding a picture of Rajaji. Ardent admirers of Rajaji,
Ms Chella Subburayan, Ms Radha, Mr Ragunathan, Mr Srinivasan and Mr Anantharaman also
graced the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Rajkumar highlighted that Rajaji was
an exemplary statesman who held several prestigious positions but never hesitated to
resign if his principles were at stake.Known for hisintegrity and honesty in public
life, he was also a staunch advocate of prohibition. A gifted writer andpoet, his
retellings of the Mahabharata and Ramayana became household classics.Dr Rajkumar
furtherremarked on Rajaji’s ability to navigate the highs and lows of his public and
personal life withequanimity. The Chief Guest advised the students that as they grow
older, instead of developing bad habits, theyshould focus on developing good habits
and build their life along greatpersonalities like Rajaji. Praising Sevalaya
Muralidharan as a real-life hero for uplifting the underprivileged, he promised
to support Sevalaya in the future. In the lead up to the celebrations,
competitions were conducted for school and college students in Thiruvallur district.
315 students participated.The Chief Guest felicitated 20 students who won
prizes inthe competitions. Earlier V Muralidharan, Founder and Managing
Trustee, Sevalaya welcomed the gathering and shared that Sevalaya celebrates
Rajaji Day to educate the younger generation about Rajaji’s legacy since not
a lot of us are aware of his life and achievements. Sevalaya students presented engaging
cultural performances. Kanchana S, Head, Value Education, Sevalaya delivered
the Vote of Thanks. A memento was presented to the Chief Guest.Sevalaya is a

More than 2,200 underprivileged children are provided
free education at their campus located near Thiruninravur.Spread across 40+ centres in
South India, Sevalaya also provides skill development courses for youth,runs
After-School Study Centres, Children and Old Age Homes, Hospitals,
healthcare and rural development projects, gaushalas and organic farms, with all its
services provided free of cost, reachingnearly 10,00,000 beneficiaries in 37 years.
