As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, Komatsu India Private Limited has sponsored two After-School Study Centres at Seege Betta Podu and Muthugada Gaddepodu villages in B R Hills, Chamarajanagar district, Karnataka at a total project cost of ₹12.53 lakhs. Implemented by Sevalaya, the initiative will benefit 50 tribal children by providing STEM-focused after-school education, supported by smart classrooms and digital learning facilities.
Arun Rengaswamy, Deputy General Manager – Marketing (Mining), and Purnopama Mukherjee, Executive – HR & Administration, Komatsu India Private Limited, graced the inauguration programme held on 3 August 2026 as the Chief Guests. With these additions, Komatsu India now sponsors eight After-School Study Centres across B R Hills, Karnataka, and Dharmapuri, Tamil Nadu, benefiting 200 tribal children.
Speaking on the occasion, Arun Rengaswamy said, “Through Komatsu India, we are implementing several initiatives for the benefit of society. Our goal is that every child should make the best use of these opportunities, excel in education and build a bright future.” Earlier, M. T. Anandan, Head – Applied Learning, Sevalaya, welcomed the gathering and spoke about Sevalaya’s educational initiatives. Jaishankar, Headmaster, Seege Betta Podu Govt. Middle School, delivered the Vote of Thanks. Mementos were presented to the Chief Guests.
