Sevalaya celebrated the Birth Anniversary of Chakravarti Rajagopalachari at Kasuva Centre on 10th December 2020. The Chief Guest of the event was Dr R K Raghavan, IPS(Retd), Former Director, CBI. Prof N Ramanathan and Dr K Kannan also participated in the online event. V Muralidharan, Founder of Sevalaya, presented a welcome speech addressing the Chief Guests. He explained about the importance of this day and how it is celebrated every year at Sevalaya.
The celebrations started with a colourful performance where the students of Sevalaya danced to the songs composed by Rajaji. Dr R K Raghavan expressed his gratitude for giving him the opportunity to speak about his idol, Rajaji. He advised the studentst to learn about Rajaji’s fearlessness and his achievements. He spoke his heart out by offering his service to do his best for Sevalaya.
Dr K Kannan gave a brief speech about Rajaji and sang a song, Vaishnava Janatho in Tamil. He spoke a few words on Mahatma Gandhi and how he is the son of Gandhi Ashram Krishnan. Srinivasan, an avid follower of Rajaji, advised the students to develop their ability to think for themselves.
Prizes were awarded to the winners of the speech, quiz and essay competitions that were held online in 38 districts where 836 children participated . 150 students were selected as winners and were awarded prizes. 5S Team members were congratulated for acquiring the prestigious Platinum award from QCFI. Gifts were distributed to the staff of Sevalaya who celebrated their birthdays in December.
A Vote of Thanks was given by Amarchand Jain, Advisor of Sevalaya, and the event concluded with National Anthem.
