Sevalaya’s VRAP Memorial Mahakavi Bharathiyar Community College, Melaseithalai in Thoothukudi district marked the graduation of 24 rural underprivileged women, who completed the free 6 months Tailoring course on 4 January 2025.

24 Rural Women Complete Free 6-Month Tailoring Course through Sevalaya, Secure Job Offers

 

Sevalaya’s VRAP Memorial Mahakavi Bharathiyar Community College, Melaseithalai in Thoothukudi district marked the graduation of 24 rural underprivileged women, who completed the free 6 months Tailoring course on 4 January 2025.

Suresh Jayaraman, Admin Manager, Octavian Garments, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. 

The Chief Guest awarded certificates to the students. A few women were also provided job offers from Octavian Garments on the occasion. The Chief Guest praised Sevalaya for the skill development initiative and expressed willingness to offer jobs to all the students trained at the centre in the future.

Earlier, Kingston A A, VP- Operations, Sevalaya welcomed the gathering. A memento was presented to the Chief Guest. Sankili Boothathan, Project Coordinator, Sevalaya Ravanasamudram centre, delivered the Vote of Thanks.

Sevalaya is a registered charitable trust headquartered in Chennai, operating since 1988. More than 2,200 underprivileged children are provided free education at their campus located near Thiruninravur. Spread across 40+ centres in South India, Sevalaya also provides skill development courses for youth, runs After-School Study Centres, Children and Old Age Homes, Hospitals, healthcare and rural development projects, gaushalas and organic farms, with all its services provided free of cost, reaching nearly 10,00,000 beneficiaries in 37 years.
