Animal protection has been in the credo of Sevalaya’s activities in general and cow protection in particular. Sevalaya’s Vinobaji Gaushala protects 55 cows (mostly dry) in its state-of-the-art cattle shed on 16th January 2016, Gau Pooja (worship the cows) was performed. All the residents namely elders of old age home and children of boys and girls hostel participated in the function. The highlight of the event was that all the participants gave the oblations prepared for the auspicious function to the lovable animals-cows. This had marked the meaning and custom of Mattu Pongal (worship the cows).
Mr S Goutham Chand Jain, Proprietor – Nirmala Jewelry, Perambakkam participated as the chief guest. Dr T Rama chandran, Veterinary practitioner, Mr P Kishanlal Jain and Mr Amarchand Jain graced the occasion.
In the end the Chief Guest distributed prizes to the winners of village level Volley ball tournament held earlier.
