Komatsu India and Sevalaya Inaugurate 2 Classrooms at Ezhichur Government Middle School,
India for their role in improving the school facilities over the years. He also added
that land has been allocated for expansion of the school and that once the school
Kundrathur As part of its CSR activities, Komatsu India Private Limited sponsored the
construction of 2 classrooms at Ezhichur Government Middle School, Kundrathur,
Kancheepuram district. Sevalaya was the implementation partner for the project. At an
event held on 18 Apr 2025, S Kailash, AGM, HR & GA, Komatsu India Private Limited
inaugurated the classrooms in the presence of school children, teachers, school and
Sevalaya staff members. Arun Raj, Deputy Manager, HR & GA Department, Komatsu
India, Murugan, Block Education Officer, Kundrathur, Thilakavathy, Headmistress
and Govindhan, Assistant Headmaster, Ezhichur Govt. Middle School also participated.
Built at the cost of ₹52.86 lakhs, the classrooms will benefit 145 students from
Std I to VIII. Each classroom can seat around 40 students. The project has been
planned and completed to ensure minimal disruption to the academic schedule with
scope for further expansion. In his speech Kailash said, “The Ezhichur Govt.
Middle School is very close to Komatsu’s heart. Over the years, Komatsu has helped
with the construction of classrooms, dining room and kitchen. We wish to convert
this school into a model school and hope the administration would ensure expansion
into a Higher Secondary School. During Covid times, we received a lot of support
from Panruti and Ezhichur village administration. The Headmistress and Assistant
Headmaster have built a close relationship with Komatsu and we are happy to have
fulfilled their demands.” He also thanked the Education Department for their support
and requested the students and school administration to maintain the facilities in
good condition. Murugan in his speech, praised the school administration and Komatsu
strength increases, the expansion would bear fruit. He thanked Sevalaya for executing
the project successfully. Arun Raj in his speech recalled the construction projects
completed by Komatsu in 2020 at the school and advised the students to study well by
using the available resources. Earlier, Sevalaya Murali, Founder and Managing Trustee,
Sevalaya welcomed the guests, dignitaries and students. He outlined Sevalaya’s activities
and shared information about the Namma School Namm Ooru Palli website. He encouraged
the school administration to make use of this website to enter their requirements in
addition to submitting their requests during these events. He said that Sevalaya and
other NGOs will make use of these entries and coordinate with corporate organisations
to execute the projects. Thilakavathy, Headmistress delivered the Vote of Thanks.
