Ground breaking ceremony for ₹2 crores new school building on New Year Day at Sevalaya Kasuva centre

The New Year Day celebrations and the ground breaking ceremony for the new school building were held at Sevalaya Kasuva centre on 1st January 2022.

The Chief Guest Aravind Srinivasan, a long time donor is sponsoring the construction of the new school building in memory of his wife Radhika Srinivasan, who was a teacher. The new school building will provide opportunity for 500 more underprivileged students to get quality education free of cost.

Speaking on the occasion, Aravind Srinivasan recalled his association with Sevalaya since the 2015 Chennai floods. “Me and my friends have contributed for the flood relief activities, pandemic relief initiatives and are also sponsoring the education of some children of Sevalaya. When I first visited the Kasuva centre I was amazed at the wide range of services for the welfare of the underprivileged” he said.

“This is the time to enjoy with friends. But it is also the time to focus on studies. I request you to make the best use of the opportunities offered by Sevalaya, study well and come up in life” he added. He said he was happy that he could participate in the New Year Day celebrations and the ground breaking ceremony for the new building on 1st January, which happens to be his late wife’s birthday.

Sponsorship cheques for higher education were presented to a few alumni on the occasion. LatentView is continuing their support towards higher education of these students more than 3 years.

Sevalaya children presented a colourful variety entertainment programme. A cake baked at Sevalaya’s bakery was cut and distributed to all.
Earlier Sevalaya Murali welcomed the gathering. A A Kingston, VP Operations proposed a vote of thanks.  The function ended with National Anthem.
