We are delighted to announce that our first ‘Seva Shop’ has opened for business! The Seva Shop is an outlet for our organically produced vegetables and bakery products.
We hope that the shop will bring 2 key benefits:
- To generate funds for Sevalaya’s projects – education of the rural poor, supporting rural development and providing homes for the destitute.
- To create effective and permanent awareness of the use of organically cultivated vegetables, and the minimisation of use of plastic materials.
The Seva Shop can be found at No.9 Cholapuram Main Road, Vivek Nagar, Ambattur, Chennai 600 053.
In a speech at the opening ceremony, Mr Harish Chandra Kulkarni (Assistant Manager, CSR, Tata Communications) lauded the efforts of Sevalaya in its consistent green initiatives. As the shop was opened, local Ambattur residents and people from nearby areas came to browse the shop.
This shop is the first of its kind and there are plans for more such shops in other areas.
