Sevalaya with the support of many donors distributed grocery kits to families of priests of temples/ churches/mosques whose livelihood was affected by the COVID Pandemic.
The priests of many small places of worship in rural areas are the worst hit, as they depend on the contributions from the devotees, which had dwindled during this pandemic period. Hence Sevalaya has organised the distribution of groceries for a month for the families of 300 such affected priests in the neighbourhood of its13 locations.
At a function at Sevalaya’s Ravanasamudram centre on 26th June 2021, Siva Mahalingam, Superintendent, Dharmapuri Adheenam and R S Nallaperumal, Educationist and a long time donor of Sevalaya distributed the kits to the families of 25 such beneficiaries from areas around Ravanasamudram village. Each kit consists of 25 Kg of rice, and groceries including Toor Dhall, Rava, Wheat flour, idli rice, chilli powder, turmeric powder, pepper, and cumin seeds.
Sevalaya has been engaged in relief activities during this pandemic, with the support of many donors.
Earlier V Muralidharan, Founder and Managing Trustee welcomed the gathering. A Suresh, Associate Vice President, Operations proposed the Vote of Thanks.
