75th Independence Day Celebration at Sevalaya

75th Independence day celebrated at all centers of Sevalaya across Tamilnadu and Puducherry.
In Sevalaya, Independence Day is celebrated in all its centers every year.
At the Independence Day celebrations at Kasuva, every year, Sevalaya honours its alumni by inviting them to be Chief Guests.
On 15th August 2021 Sevalaya alumni, G Akshaya – Computer Operator, Directorate of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, R Nandini CTS, Program Analyst, and P Dilip Kumar – Southern Associates, Engineer were the Special Guests at the Independence Day celebrations held in Kasuva centre.
The special guests hoisted the national flag and the students sang Flag Song and took pledge. Students of Sevalaya presented a colourful cultural programme of patriotic songs, dance and skits.
Self-improvement books were distributed by the special guest as gifts to 25 staff members who were celebrating their birthdays this month. The guests also shared their experience in Sevalaya and thanked their teachers for being good friends and providing great support in their professional advancement. They urged the students to make good use of the opportunities provided by Sevalaya to succeed in life.
In his welcome address, Sevalaya Founder and Managing Trustee V Muralitharan gave a brief introduction about Sevalaya and its future endeavours and then advised that courage, self-confidence and perseverance will lead one to the path to success.
As every year, the Sewalaya Alumni Association, Indian Red Cross Society, Chennai organized the Blood donation Camp during Independence Day. Over 80 units of blood were collected at the camp in which 100prople including alumni and Sevalaya staff participated and donated blood. Vankamamidi Venu Gopala Rao memorial State level chess tournament, sponsored by donor Satya Prabhakar, CEO, Sulekha.com for students was also conducted, in which 190 students from 5 districts participated. And the winners are Under 8 Category : Rohit V – Chennai, Prabu Karthick M M-Chennai, Janani Priya V / Thiruvallur, Under 10 category: Ravindar G – Chengalpet, Shreyas M- Kanchipuram, Prahalad Pinapala- Chengalpet Under 12 category: Saganapriya v- Thiruvallur, Saisarvesh S-Thiruvallur, Siranjeevisanjay S- Trichy, Under 14 category: Srihari Satheeswaran – S – Trichy, Rahul K P- Chengalpet, Kavin D – Chennai
In the end, Annapurna Trustee, Sevalaya, presented a memento to the special guests and proposed Vote of Thanks . And the event concluded with singing of the National Anthem.
