32nd Annual Day – Sevalaya

The 32nd Annual Day was celebrated at Kasuva Centre on November 7th 2020. S Madhumati IAS, Principal Secretary, Dept of Social Welfare, TN Govt was the Chief Guest for the event. The Chief Guest and the Felicitators were greeted with a grand welcome by the staff of Sevalaya with festival instruments. Sevalaya Murali gave a welcome speech addressing the online spectators and the audience. He gave a brief speech on Sevalaya on how underprivileged children are provided with free education and food. He mentioned several Sevalaya alumni thriving in their professional fields in foreign countries. He highlighted Sevalaya’s milestones during the Covid-19 Pandemic and their role in providing grocery kits to the affected communities in a swift manner.

A colourful cultural performance was provided by the students of Sevalaya through various forms of traditional dance. The Chief Guest lighted the bronze lamp to honor the special day. S Madhumati gave a powerful speech on Social Service and applauded Sevalaya for its BGV, Bharathiyar Gandhi Vivekananada, values. She read a Thirukural for the students, which stated to abolish laziness to achieve greatness in their lives. She also spoke about women empowerment and appreciated Sevalaya for empowering women. She advised the students to take care of their parents when they’re old and to never abandon them in old age homes.

Kalyan Kalyanaraman, Technical Editor, Riveria Maritime Media, told the students to make use of the opportunity to good use and to absorb the values taught by Sevalaya. G Sankar sponsored Rs 10000 for Std X students who scored high in Tamil subjects in memory of his mother, V Rukmani, Tamil Teacher.

A A Kingston conducted an award ceremony where prizes were distributed to the toppers of Std XII of Sevalaya. Several employees of Sevalaya received a book for their outstanding service towards the organization. Silver Coins were presented to employees for their long years of service. The Best Employee of the year awards were given to the employees who helped during Covid-19 Relied work as a token of appreciation. New dresses were presented to the students and elders of Sevalaya by the Chief Guest for Deepavali. Amarchand Jain, Advisor, provided a Vote of Thanks to the Chief Guests and the entire staff of Sevalaya. He wished everyone an advanced Deepavali. The event concluded with a National Anthem.
