Sevalaya receives best Old Age Home Award from TN government

Since inception, Sevalaya has worked towards ensuring that basic needs of old and destitute people are met. To acknowledge that, Social Welfare Department of Govt of Tamil Nadu honoured Sevalaya with Best Old Age Home Award recently.

In Sevalaya, more than 90 people are provided shelter and essential facilities like medical services, attendants, healthy food etc.

In the event that took place on 3rd October 2018, T Chandran, Revenue officer, Thiruvallur district presented the award to Sevalaya’s Founder and Managing Trustee, V Muralidharan.

Dr Jayalan, Joint Director (Health), Dr Krishnaraj, Deputy Director (Health) and Senthil, Child Protection officer participated in the event.

Additionally, around 100 people from various Old Age Homes across Chennai were also present during the occasion and actively took part in cultural events like Musical Chair, Rangoli and dance.
