Sevalaya achieved an overall result of 99.2% in the XII standard board exams conducted this year. The results were released on 6th May 2024. 141 out of 142 students from Sevalaya have successfully passed the exams.

Sevalaya achieved an overall result of 99.2% in the XII standard board exams conducted this
year. The results were released on 6th May 2024. 141 out of 142 students from Sevalaya have
successfully passed the exams.
The toppers this year have secured 88%, 87% and 86% marks respectively. More than 80% of
the students have scored First Division.
Sevalaya, a charitable organisation has been functioning for the past 36 years educating nearly
2200 children, free of cost at their school in Kasuva, near Thiruninravur, Thiruvallur district. All
the students are first generation school goers hailing from a disadvantaged economic
background.
The topper, R Priyadarshini who scored 525 out of 600 marks wishes to pursue a paramedical
course in counselling. Studying at Sevalaya since her kindergarten, she was also the topper in
her X standard board exams. Hailing from Korattur, Priyadarshini’s father works as a tailor while
her mother is a housewife. The family shifted to Pakkam village so that Priyadarshini and her
younger sister could receive quality education at Sevalaya, free of cost.
T Thembavani who scored 522 and came second, too shifted base and stayed at her maternal
grandparents’ house so that she could study at Sevalaya. Her younger sister too studies in the
XI standard at Sevalaya. Her father works as a welder and her mother looks after cows for a
living back at their home. Thembavani wishes to pursue engineering and says Sevalaya’s free
education was the biggest motivator for her success since her family has been going through
difficulties due to her father’s health issues.
S Saran who has scored 515 and came third wishes to pursue engineering. He has also given
his NEET exam. His father works as a driver and his mother is a housewife. He thanks
Sevalaya for the free education, study materials and support that he received.
The credit for the success of the students goes to Sevalaya and its teachers who spared no
efforts in going beyond their job to ensure that the students were thoroughly prepared
academically, physically and mentally to give their best. They arranged several special classes
and provided individual attention through counseling sessions to the students.
The toppers expressed their wish to pursue higher education and build a successful career and
contribute back to Sevalaya. Sevalaya regularly conducts career guidance sessions and also
supports deserving students in pursuing higher education.
