Three uniforms, notebooks, and stationery items were distributed to over 2,200 underprivileged
children.
The estimated cost of providing educational supplies for a child is Rs. 3000. Due to the
generosity of donors, Sevalaya was able to distribute educational kits worth Rs. 60 lakhs to over
2,200 underprivileged children.
The Chief Guest of the event, R. Lakshmipathy, Joint Director of Dinamalar, handed over the
notebooks, textbooks, and uniforms to the students.
He garlanded the portraits of three inspirers of Sevalaya—Mahakavi Bharathiyar, Mahatma
Gandhi, and Swami Vivekananda.
In his address, he encouraged the students to ignore negativity, strive for their ambitions with
patience like bamboo, and stay strong like an eagle facing challenges. He urged them to work
hard towards their goals, as Abdul Kalam suggested, and set high aspirations. He also
expressed his wish that Sevalaya expand its services to all the states of India.
P. Sivadass, District Education Officer (Private Schools) of Thiruvallur, visited the school and
handed out free textbooks, notebooks, and school bags to the students.
Earlier, Sevalaya Muralidharan welcomed the gathering and thanked all the donors for their
support in providing educational kits. Long-time donor and friend of Sevalaya Muralidharan,
Kandasamy, also attended the event. Mementos were presented to the guests.
