JK Tyre, in collaboration with Sevalaya, has inaugurated a RO plant in Kolathur Village, Sriperumbudur, aimed at providing clean drinking water to over 1,000 local residents

As part of its CSR activities, JK Tyre & Industries Private Limited
sponsored the construction of an RO plant at KK Nagar, Kolathur village,
Sriperumbudur Block, Kancheepuram district. Sevalaya was the implementation
partner for the project. At an event held on 13 May 2025, Sahayaraj, Head
and Deputy Manager, CSR, JK Tyre and Industries Private Limited inaugurated
the RO plant in the presence of villagers. CSR Committee members from JK
Tyres, E Harikrishnan, Chairman, Kolathur Panchayat, Dhanasekar S P, Ward Member,
Kolathur Panchayat and Sevalaya staff members also participated. Built at the
cost of ₹7.43 lakhs, the RO plant with a capacity of 500 Lph will benefit
around 1,000 villagers. In his speech Sahayaraj said, “We received a request
from your ward members that we need to arrange drinking water facilities for
the Irula community. We are not good at implementing social activities, so
we chose Sevalaya to implement this project in a proper manner. We have done
many RO plant projects but Sevalaya’s work is unique. We are very happy with
the execution and completion of the project”. He also added that JK Tyres was
planning to conduct medical camps at the village in the future. Earlier, V Muralidharan,
Founder and Managing Trustee, Sevalaya welcomed the guests, dignitaries and
villagers. He said Sevalaya and JK Tyres are collaborating on many projects in
water, sanitation and education including model village projects. He added that
safe drinking water is the primary necessity for human life. He requested the
villagers to use the resource judiciously and maintain the facility as a
valuable asset. Harikrishnan, Chairman, Kolathur Panchayat delivered the Vote of
Thanks. A memento was presented to the Chief Guest.
