International Childhood Cancer Day Marked with Free HPV Vaccination at Sevalaya
Dr M Banupriya, Senior Consultant and Radiation Oncologist, Privaram Cancer and Research Institute, Chennai along with Kalpavriksham Trust, Chennai conducted an awareness session on HPV vaccination to prevent Cervical Cancer, at Sevalaya’s Kasuva centre on 12th February 2024.
Cervical cancer is the fourth most common cancer in women globally. Free vaccinations were administered during the event and a follow-up camp was also organised on the occasion of International Childhood Cancer Day, 15th February 2024.
More than 50 students from Sevalaya’s Mahakavi Bharathiyar Community College and Sevalaya’s Mahakavi Bharathiyar Higher Secondary School, Kasuva received their first dose of vaccination worth Rs. 2000 for free.
More vaccinations are planned in the next few weeks. Sevalaya is also looking to partner with sponsors for wider coverage in the future.
