The Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, as the nodal agency of the Government of India for reducing the demand for drugs, has launched the flagship mass awareness campaign, Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan
In alignment with this initiative, the Department of Children Welfare and Special Services, along with the Narcotics Enforcement Bureau CID of the Government of Tamil Nadu, organized an anti-drug pledge event titled “Drug-Free Tamil Nadu” on 12th August 2024, at Sevalaya’s Kasuva Centre.
During the event, M Nishanthini, District Child Welfare Protection Officer, administered the oath to the students.
She emphasized the importance of abstaining from drugs and encouraged students to spread awareness among their families, friends, and close circles to prevent drug addiction. All attendees pledged their support for the government’s efforts against the use, consumption, and manufacturing of illegal narcotics.
500 students from Sevalaya, studying in Stds IX to XII and Community College, participated in the pledge.
