A day celebrating the joy of childhood…
The Birth Anniversary of the first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru is celebrated all over the country as Children’s Day.
Celebrations were held at Sevalaya also on November 14th. The children and the teachers presented a variety entertainment programme on the occasion.
The children sang songs, recited the poems they wrote, performed dance etc. The teachers also sang songs. The children enjoyed the performance of the teachers.
The Chief Guest for the function Sunil Upadhyaya, Vice-President and Head – South Zone, ABB India Ltd, Chennai in his address said that the celebra- tions and the cultural events took him back to his school days.
He expressed his joy on being a part of the occasion and commended the staff and children for the show put up by them. He also administered a pledge wherein children promised to respect elders, parents, be a good citizen & human being, help the needy and keep their home, school and surroundings clean. The 2000 children also received special gifts.
