71st Republic Day celebrations

V Gnanaprakash, Senior Executive Finance, Royal Enfield and an alumnus of Sevalaya, hoisted the National Flag at the 71st Republic Day celebrations at Kasuva Centre on 26th January 2020.

The children presented a colourful cultural programme on the occasion. R Janakiraman, who had been selected as the Best student of Madras University and Bharathikanth, a performing artist, both alumni of Sevalaya also participated in the celebrations. A blood donation camp was organised on the Day by Alam Vizhudugal, the Alumni Association of Sevalaya in association with Thiru Kumaran Hospital, Poonamalle High Road Chennai and Chennai Blood Centre, Anna Nagar, coordinated by Lions Club of Chennai Muthamizh.

50 units of blood was donated by staff of Sevalaya, alumni and villagers. Alumni meet and a farewell party for the 124 outgoing students of Std XII was also held on the day. Nearly 100 alumni participated. The alumni provided practical tips on how to face the exam and also shared their experiences in college and the work place.

At the Thanjavur Centre, T Shankar, an ex-serviceman hoisted the National flag at the Republic Day celebrations on 26th January 2020. 60 students and staff from Panchayat Union Primary School at Thalavaipalayam and Kollumedu villages participated in the celebrations.
